KAMAU

A Swahili word meaning Quiet warrior

THANK YOU to all who entered and supported the Generosity project #2, Samburu. There were many great titles and it was not easy to choose, but Kamau and the meaning of it, struck me instantly.

Although I am very emotionally connected to what I am photographing, adding titles or quotes to my images tends to be daunting.  Perhaps it is because when I am adding words to an image I am most likely sitting at my desk, in my loft, in the city; distracted. However, words with our photographs are more important than ever with websites; blogs, and social media platforms.

If you are going to put words with your photographs you want them to be as strong and compelling as the image. Writing is a talent all unto itself; one I have always struggled with.

A collogue and friend, Lisa Langell, has a natural talent for this, which I greatly admire.  She teaches an interesting and interactive webinar on how to put the right words with your photographs: Titles and Beyond… for only $15.00!! It is well worth the small investment of time and money, if you are adding titles, quotes, or words to your photographs.  Her next webinar is on July 14, 2020. She also has these webinars available on demand on her website.
