An Incredible Honor – Remembering Lions is launched!

The Kickstarter campaign has been officially launched for Remembering Lions. Over 600 people supported the project and  raised over $100,000.00 USD for lion conservation on the first day. Remembering Lions will be the 4th book in the acclaimed Remembering Wildlife series.

Remembering Lions is set to be an epic coffee table book of stunning lion images all donated by top wildlife photographers united around the globe in support of lion conservation! There are still a lot of great awards including pre-ordering the fist edition of the Remembering Lions book.

To date across the first three books we’ve now been able to donate £460,000/$600,000 USD

In just the past six months, the remembering wildlife series has made the  following donations:

£12,000 to The Jane Goodall Institute
£8000 to EAGLE Network
£8000 to Gorilla Doctors
£11,000 to Lukuru Foundation
£11,500 to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
£12,000 to Amboseli Trust for Elephants
£8000 to African Parks
£10,000 to Rhino Conservation Botswana
£8000 prize donation towards the Ian Redmond Awards
£4000 for the Sabyinyo Sewing Project for single Rwandan mothers
£8000 to Gunung Palung Orangutan Project

In addition we have £60,000 sitting in Born Free‘s bank account ready for distribution to great ape projects we’ve now agreed with them, including £26,000 to Orangutan Foundation UK – Program Indonesia – all of which Born Free will distribute in their new financial year (after April).

This is such an amazing conservation initiative supported by wildlife photographers across the globe. I hope you will join us in helping to protect our amazing wildlife for many future generation to enjoy.

In April there will be a contest where 10 more images will be selected for the Remembering Lions book. I will post details on my social media sites when I have the details of the dates.

    Hi Piper,
    I would like to enter my lion photo for the book. It is a fabulous lineup of of a small pride of females and cubs. An incredible image. My regular website is being redone so not available yet. I will send the photo to you as is not posted currently.

      The contest for submitting to Remembering Lions will be in April. Once I have the dates, I will post them.

      The books are available for pre-order through the kickstarter campaign. The link is at the top of this post. The books will not start shipping until October. THey make great Christmas gifts.
