There is a different kind of anticipation that comes with a photographic hide. No engines. No repositioning vehicles. No rush to keep up with the movement of wildlife across the landscape. No stress to the wildlife. Instead, there is stillness, silence, and the growing tension of waiting for something extraordinary to emerge on its own terms. As the light shifts and the hours pass, you begin to notice details often missed on a traditional safari: subtle behavior, changing moods, reflections, interactions, and the quiet rhythm of the wild unfolding before you. For many photographers who have traveled with me across Africa, the hide experience became one of the most powerful and creatively fulfilling parts of the journey.
After repeated requests from past guests, I have begun designing a dedicated hide safari across two countries, built entirely around some of Africa’s most exceptional photographic hides. This will not be a traditional wildlife safari with hides added in. It will be a carefully crafted experience focused on patience, light, composition, and the opportunity to work eye to eye with wildlife in an intimate, undisturbed environment. From dramatic low-angle waterhole hides to night game drives, and off-road access in private conservancies with low vehicle density. This journey is designed for photographers who want to slow down, immerse themselves fully, and explore a more intentional way of experiencing and photographing Africa’s wild places.
Since this safari has been highly requested by repeat guests, the 7 spots may go very quickly. If you are interested in joining us, make sure you add your name to the priority notification list!
