An informative, mentoring,  Workshop

Yes! It is possible to turn your passion for photography into a full time job. I am just a girl who had a camera accidentally fall into my hands and discovered a passion stronger than anything I had known.  Today I am successfully working as a full time photographer, but not without many years of hard work, drive, and commitment to keep going through a lot of mistakes, frustrations, and failures.

The business and marketing side of photography was my biggest challenge, as it is for most photographers, but it is the main difference in doing this professionally or for passion.  Being a professional photographer does not mean you have more talent and take better images than others, it means you have the skills to market and run a business.

There are numerous workshops offered to improve your shooting and post processing skills, but there seems to be a lack of workshops that focus on the marketing and business side of photography.  Perhaps  it is because it is such a left brain topic for us creative souls and not nearly as fun as taking photographs. That is why I am mixing it with a private wine tasting where we can hangout and talk about the fun side of photography.

Finding a mentor can also be a challenge and is why I decided to offer this small informative workshop to help answer some of the difficult questions emerging and beginning photographers have about setting up a successful photography business.

The perception is that the lifestyle of a photographer is always exciting and filled with travel to exotic places, but the reality is that at least 80% of a photographer’s time is spent on business and marketing and figuring it all out by trial and error.   Having the wisdom of what is involved in running a photography business will allow you to make wise decisions on your own path.

The goal of this workshop is to help you define a focus in your photography, distinguish yourself from the crowd, and to give you the tools you need to transition your passion into a successful business. Throughout this informative workshop I will share my story, experiences, failures and success in making the transition from a successful career in the fashion industry to a full time photographer. I will share some of the things no one really tells you that could have made my path just a little easier. I will also give inspiration on how to get through the hurdles to keep moving forward when it seems impossible.
