Giving Back; making a difference

Photography has given me so much, greatly enriching my life, and has helped shape the way I view the world. Over the years of sharing my imagery and stories I have been asked “how can I help to make a difference” or “I would like to help but I am never sure if I give money to an organization if it is really going to help the cause.” I now have the opportunity to help give back by creating this page “Giving Back.” Here I will highlight a few organizations that I have worked with or have visited their project and also know the founders personally. In the places I travel even a few dollars can help to improve the life of a person or animal.

The foundation rescues and cares for Mingi children located in the Omo River Valley region of Southwest Ethiopia, Africa. Unique to this organization is that the other founder is a Kara and that the entire operation on the ground in Jinka is run by members of the Kara tribe making a better future for their own people. Those who have followed my work and journey through this region and would like to help make a difference with a donation, read their story and learn more, please visit the Omo Child website: www.omochild.org

Here is the blog post telling the story how I came to know John Rowe and Omo Child
